我們將「水磨石」視為一種承載時間與情感的媒介，從其獨特的材質特性與大眾的兒時記憶出發，轉譯為插畫圖像及日用文具，設計出台灣水磨石日曆搭配蠟筆組，讓大家透過親手使用來感受水磨石歷史文化的深度底蘊。

We regard "terrazzo" as a medium that carries time and emotions. Starting from its unique material characteristics and the childhood memories of the public, we translated it into illustrations and daily stationery, and designed a Taiwan terrazzo calendar with crayon set, so that everyone can feel the profound cultural heritage of terrazzo through hands-on use.

在〈臺灣磨石蠟筆 Taiwan Terrazzo Crayon〉的創作過程中，我們探索如何將台灣傳統建築的磨石子元素，透過跨領域的設計思維賦予新生。為了以創新的方式轉譯這份記憶，我們大膽挑戰了實體蠟筆的製作。這項任務極度考驗對材質的熟悉度，需要耗費大量時間進行一次又一次的修正，過程中我們甚至一度萌生放棄的念頭。現在回想起來，非常慶幸當時咬牙堅持了下去，最終的成品讓我們深感驕傲，能以此作品獲獎更是無比喜悅。

這一路上，由衷感謝指導老師的陪伴與指引，總在關鍵時刻給予我們突破瓶頸的建議。團隊間的緊密合作與各司其職，更是這份作品得以順利誕生的最大助力，我們互相扶持，共同完成了這項挑戰。

此次能獲得釜山設計獎的創意獎，對我們而言是莫大的肯定。期盼這份設計能喚起大眾對生活周遭文化資產的共鳴，讓被遺忘的美好記憶，以嶄新的姿態持續傳承。

During the creation of Taiwan Terrazzo Crayon, we explored how to breathe new life into the terrazzo aesthetics of Taiwan's traditional architecture through an interdisciplinary design approach. To reinterpret these cherished cultural memories in an innovative way, we challenged ourselves to develop a physical crayon inspired by terrazzo. This process demanded an in-depth understanding of materials and countless rounds of experimentation and refinement. There were moments when we even considered giving up. Looking back, we are truly grateful that we persevered. Seeing the final result come to life fills us with great pride, and having this work recognized with an award is an even greater honor.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our advisors, Professor Shang Yao-Yuan and Professor Liu Jui-Fen, whose continuous guidance and encouragement helped us overcome challenges at every critical stage. We are also thankful for the close collaboration within our team. By supporting one another and contributing our individual strengths, we were able to bring this project to fruition.

Receiving the Creative Award at the International Busan Design Award (IBDA) is a tremendous honor and affirmation of our efforts. We hope this design will inspire people to rediscover the cultural heritage that surrounds them in everyday life, allowing these treasured memories to be preserved and passed on through a fresh and contemporary perspective.

非常感謝釜山設計獎項給予肯定，我們非常開心也十分榮幸。《臺灣磨石日曆》源自於我們對臺灣磨石子文化的觀察，希望透過日曆作為日常媒介，重新喚起人們與生活、地方記憶之間的連結。從前期研究、材質實驗，到設計、排版反覆修正、調整，我們不斷思考如何讓傳統文化以更貼近現代生活的方式被看見，也在一次次嘗試中累積了許多寶貴的經驗與成長。

特別感謝一路陪伴我們的指導老師，在遇到瓶頸時給予我們方向與鼓勵，也非常感謝每一位對我們作品給予支持的人。這次的獲獎，不只是對作品的肯定，更讓我們相信設計能成為傳遞文化與情感的橋樑。

We are truly grateful to the International Busan Design Award (IBDA) for this recognition. It is both a great honor and a tremendous joy to receive this award.

Taiwan Terrazzo Calendar was inspired by our observations of Taiwan's terrazzo culture. Through the familiar format of a calendar, we hoped to reconnect people with their daily lives, local communities, and shared memories. From initial research and material exploration to repeated refinements of the design and layout, we continuously sought ways to present traditional culture in a form that resonates with contemporary life. Along this journey, we gained invaluable experience and grew both as designers and as a team.

We would especially like to thank our advisors for their unwavering guidance and encouragement, always helping us find direction whenever we encountered challenges. We are also deeply grateful to everyone who has supported and believed in our work.

Receiving this award is not only a meaningful recognition of our project, but also reinforces our belief that design can serve as a bridge for preserving and communicating culture and emotion. We hope this work will inspire more people to rediscover the beauty of Taiwan's cultural heritage in their everyday lives.
